Hi, I’m Rowan.

I’m a late-diagnosed Autistic ADHDer with dyslexia, a mother, and a Parent Guide for neurodivergent families. I focus on daily care, compassion, reframing, and supporting parents on their unique journeys.

I’m a mother to two neurodivergent boys, now 10 and 17, and we share our home with Clementine, our lively Bengal cat who adds plenty of spice to our neurospicy family life. Parenting has been a wild, beautiful, and challenging journey—one that has shaped the work I do today.

I am determined to support parents to move out of isolation and negative cycles, and to be part of creating a positive, connected culture for neurodivergent families and children. My passion is also rooted in love for my dad, who passed away two years ago. He always supported me from checking my work through dyslexia and ADHD to inspiring me with his own passion and authenticity.

My Background

From a young age, I felt called to connect with children, perhaps because of my own experiences as a sensitive, dyslexic (undiagnosed autistic) child. In 2005, I began my career as a Primary School Teacher in East London, in a vibrant, diverse school.

Motherhood, however, brought lessons no training could prepare me for. My eldest was born in 2008 with medical challenges and a unique way of being in the world. While full of love, I was overwhelmed, and eventually left teaching to childmind and find my own way through parenting.

In 2015, my youngest was born, and again my parenting path was full of ups and downs. I often felt derailed, reactive, and unsure how to change things. A turning point came when I discovered connection- and trauma-informed parenting practices, including Hand in Hand Parenting and Aware Parenting. These helped me see my children differently, value them more fully, and become a calmer, more playful mother.

What I’ve Learned

Today, I’m still walking my own parenting journey while supporting others along theirs. Having navigated burnout, reframing, and acceptance as a late-diagnosed AuDHDer and parent carer, I bring both lived experience and compassion to this work. I now share what I’ve learned with parents who feel full to the brim—offering safe, non-judgmental spaces to pause, unravel, and reconnect.

  • Love and compassion for oneself are at the heart of parenting.

  • Connection is key: With ourselves, our children, and each other.

  • Safe, supportive spaces can transform both parents and families.
